Bazaar, tournament a success

The 3rd Annual Christmas Bazaar and Jingle Bell Golf Tournament was an even greater success this year than the first two years.  More vendors, golfers, shoppers, door prizes, and a great deal more toys and money given for the Christmas Wishes Program of the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office.

This year’s event had over 100 new toys donated including four new bikes, fishing poles, tackle boxes, dolls, balls, games and much more. Plus, $1,445.78 in cash was raised.  The Sheriff’s Office works with the school to make sure the appropriate children get close to what they want for Christmas.  With the new toys and cash many children in Gulf Co will have a very nice Christmas.

The new toys were dropped off at St. Joseph Bay Golf Club, South Gulf County Fire Department, and Gulf to Bay Construction.  Money was raised through the vendor table fees, event sponsorships, golfers, mulligan sales, and the Christmas Wishes Stockings at area businesses:  No Name Café, Bay Breeze Antiques, Sisters, Peppers, Buy Rite PSJ, Centennial Bank PSJ, Piggly Wiggly, Gulf County Sheriff’s Office, and in Wewa at IGA, Buy Rite, and Centennial Bank.

A big thank you goes out to our event sponsors: Gulf County TDC, Penelope’s Pet Shop, GPM Financial, LLC, Gulf to Bay Construction, and the St. Joseph Bay Golf Club.  Also, a big thanks to all our vendors and the golfers who played in the Jingle Bell Golf Tournament.

The Christmas Wishes Stockings remain at the area businesses until Christmas, so the Sheriff’s Office can help as many Gulf County children as possible.  Your donations are greatly appreciated.
