AMELIA – South Terrebonne’s softball team defeated Berwick 8-5 at the Central Catholic tournament on Friday.

Leading batters for South Terrebonne were Mikenzi Authement (2-for-4, triple, two RBIs), Valerie LeBlanc (1-for-2, triple, RBI) and Lani LeBouef (1-for-3, two RBIs).

Authement was the winning pitcher, allowing five hits, two earned runs and striking out six batters.

South Terrebonne improved to 4-3 overall, and Berwick fell 3-8 overall.

LADY MUSTANGS SPLIT AT TOURNEY

At the St. John tournament, Assumption (7-4 overall) picked up a 2-1 win over Albany but lost a 12-0 decision to Central in five innings on Friday.

In the win over Albany, Alexis Clifton had two RBIs and Keely Turner went 2-for-3 to lead the Lady Mustangs. Abbey Aysen got the win in the pitcher’s circle, allowing three hits, one run, four strikeouts and walking three batters.

In the loss to Central, the Lady Mustangs recorded just three hits. Reagan Alleman (2 2/3 innings, eight hits, 10 runs, three earned runs, two strikeouts, five walks) took the loss in the pitcher’s circle, and Shelbie Mabile also pitched.
