The Coosa Christian baseball team swept Woodville in a doubleheader Saturday.

The Conquerors won the first game 8-0.

Ashton Clemmons pitched six innings with 10 strikeouts and allowed two hits. Conner Belyeu closed with a strikeout and a hit.

Clay Waits had a single and an RBI; Caiden Lipscomb had a single, a double and an RBI; Jake McDowell had a single and an RBI; Jackson Justus had a single and two RBIs and Conner Belyeu had two singles and two RBIs.

Coosa won the second game 13-6.

Caiden Lipscomb pitched 4 2/3 innings with eight strikeouts, three earned runs and two hits. Conner Belyeu closed with three strikeouts and two hits.

Carston Lipscomb had a single and an RBI; Clay Waits had a single and an RBI; Ashton Clemmons had a single, a double and two RBIs; Justus had a single, a triple and four RBIs; Noah Bruce had a single and an RBI; Caiden Lipscomb, Karter Roberts and Will Foster all had singles; Belyeu had a single and an RBI and Noah Davidson had a single and two RBIs.

Southside goes 1-2 in tourney

HOOVER — Southside went 1-2 in the Buccaneers Round Robin high school softball tournament over the weekend.

The Panthers fell to Hoover by a run and Benjamin Russell before coming back with a 6-3 win over Cordova.

Emilee Coker paced Southside in the tourney with eight hits. Lauren Hunt had seven hits. The two players also combined for 16 steals over the weekend.

Southside hosts Alexandria on Monday.
