Little League Baseball in PSJ on Saturday

Baseball in PSJ has been around for a long time. Things are tough these days in a bad economy and people are struggling to make ends meet. There will always be one thing that people can find comfort in during the spring season; baseball. Baseball in PSJ has been around a long time and has a rich tradition. We have been blessed over the years with great coaches like Willie Ramsey, James “Benny” Roberts, Archie Weimorts, Jimmy Burke, Ed Frank McFarland, Warren Yeager, Bill Dunnigan, BH Hamm, Harold Hinote, JW Bouington, Paul Sewell and Smokey Davis. Now these are great baseball names and they were all great coaches. Back in those days; baseball, STAC house and spearfishing was pretty much all there was to do in the spring. We played baseball all the time on the weekends and practiced when we were not playing. Now days, baseball seems to have taken a back seat to play station and X-Box. We would like to encourage all kids to try America’s sport even if this is the first year they would have played. Please bring a child down to the STAC house this Saturday and sign them up for baseball. Sign ups are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you have any questions, call Mitch Burke at 227-5702 or Dona Sander at 227-4839.
