Beach Blast Thank You

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all volunteers and supporters who helped with the 2008 Beach Blast Triathlon and Duathlon on April 26.
The race was a great success, thanks to everyone who helped guard the transition area, directed athletes on the bike course, handed out water and Gatorade on the run, and assisted with timing. Everyone did a great job and was truly appreciated by the race management and athletes.
I received this email from a participant shortly after the race: "Thank you for a fantastic race. The volunteers you have were great. Please pass along my thanks to them. See you in September. Rodney E. Reams."
Gulf County and Mexico Beach Tourism Development did a fantastic job helping with permits, equipment, directing volunteers and other important tasks. We welcomed almost 200 athletes. They came from all over the Panhandle, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and even California! We hope athletes will return in September for Beach Blast II.
And we hope we can count on a great number of volunteers again, because without them, Beach Blast would not exist!
