Minger, Belin Win State Honors
Senior pitcher Kayla Minger and Port St. Joe High School softball Coach Jim Belin swept the state honors in Class 2A it was announced last week.
Belin was named the Class 2A Coach of the Year for guiding the Lady Sharks to the state championship game.
Minger was named the Class 2A Player of the Year after a season in which she won more than 25 games, struck out more than 300 batters and finished with an ERA under 1.00.
Minger finished fourth in the Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Softball voting. Belin was sixth in the coach of the year voting.
