Unbeaten Week for PSJ Middle School Softball
The Port St. Joe Middle School softball team completed the past week unscathed with victories over Altha, Marianna and Wewahitchka.
Last Thursday Altha cam calling and Port St. Joe prevailed 15-0 in a game called under the run-rule.
MaKayla Ramsey started on the mound and pitched two no-hit innings striking out five. Brittany King pitched two innings of one-hit ball striking out five and walking one.
Haley Wood was 3 for 4 with two doubles, three runs-scored and two RBIs for Port St. Joe. King was 2 for 4 with a double and three runs, Kelsey Miles had a pair of singles and scored three runs and Shannon Pridgeon and Stephanie Brinkmeier each had a single, run and RBI.
The following day Port St. Joe traveled to Marianna and won 4-3.
Ramsey pitched six innings of three hit ball, allowing one earned run and striking out 12 while walking four.
Ramsey also had a hit and run scored, while King had a hit and scored twice, Shenoya Fennell drove in a run and Anastasia Thomason had two RBIs.
The B Squad won 10-9.
This past Monday, the Lady Sharks traveled to Wewahitchka and won 12-0 in a game ended in the run-rule.
Ramsey started on the mound and went three one-hit innings, striking out nine. King came on in relief and allowed two hits in two innings while striking out five.
Wood was 2 for 4 with two runs and one RBI, Miles was 3 for 3 with a run and RBI, Ramsey was 2 for 4, scored once and drove in two and King was 2 for 4 with a run and RBI.
Pridgeon had two hits and scored once, Fennell had three hits, three runs and drove in a run, Brinkmeier was 3 for 3 with one run while driving in four, Thomason had a hit, run-scored and an RBI and Janel Kerigan had a hit and scored a run.
The B Squad won 4-0.
