PSJ Middle School football
After a good spring and summer the 2010 Port St. Joe Middle School football season will open on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. in Blountstown in a fall Jamboree. The Sharks will take on Wewahitchka in the first half and Grand Ridge in the second half. Tolar (Liberty County) Middle School and Blountstown Middle School will round out the field of teams playing in this annual event.
The Sharks are coming off a very good season in 2009 with a 6-1 record, finishing second in the Panhandle Conference behind Blountstown.
Key Returnees- Jarkeice Davis, Jak Riley, Riley Burke, Walt Wilder, Carter Thacker, Cole Cryderman, Marchell Johnson, Marquez Johnson, Will Ramsey, Tyler Alford, Chase Nichols, Zac Jasiski and Reggie Smith.
Key Losses- Vern Barth, Morton McLemore, Natrone Lee, Mosses Jones, Jacobie Jones, Barrett Lake, Drew Lacour and Nick Lewis.
Others to Watch- Troy Williams, Aaron Paul, Tyson Davis, Clay Raffield, Ethan Sanders, Elijah Caldwell, Tyler Crum, Devin Strickland and Ty Royal.
“Our numbers are up a little from the last two seasons, and we are proud of the way our kids have work in the off season to get ready to play,” said Coach Tracy Browning. “We just hope that on people will come to see the future Tiger Sharks play.”
