Lady Sharks split in preseason classic
The Port St. Joe High School Lady Shark softball team competed in a four-team pre-season classic in Sneads last Saturday.
In the first game the Lady Sharks lost to the host team, 11-1. Port St. Joe bounced back to beat Blountstown 6-0 in the second game.
Stephanie Brinkmeier and MaKayla Ramsey pitched the two games, respectively.
“Being a pre-season classic we played a lot of players and played them in different positions to see what positions would best suit the team,” Coach Belin said. “We found some areas we were strong in and areas that needed some work. Overall we are very pleased with what we saw.”
The junior varsity will play at North Bay Haven Charter tonight at 5:00 ET and again Saturday in a junior varsity round-robin with Blountstown and Franklin County. Games begin at 1 p.m. ET. The Lady Shark varsity will open their season Thursday, Feb. 16 at home against Blountstown.
Come out and support the Lady Sharks as the 2012 softball season begins.
