Bluewater Charity Classic Offshore Fishing Tournament
Bluewater Outriggers will sponsor a charity offshore fishing tournament to benefit the Taunton Family Children's Home rebuilding efforts on Saturday, June 6 at the Port St. Joe Marina.
There will be first-place ($2,500), second-place ($500) and third-place ($250) prize money for the heaviest fish in the following categories: king mackerel, red snapper, Spanish mackerel and grouper.
There will be additional prize money opportunities for heaviest fish per boat in each species category. There is also $25,000 on the line for any angler who brings in a state record red snapper.
Registration is $200 per boat after June 1. Registration closes at 7 p.m. on June 5.
There is a captain's party from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 5, which will include food, fun, prize giveaways, raffles and Wheel of Fortune as well as a reading of the final rules. Fishing may begin after the captain's party.
Weigh-in starts at 2 p.m. and closes at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and only those in line at closing time will have their fish weighed.
Fish catches may be trucked in from entry points between Indian Pass and Mexico Beach.
While the tournament is underway there will be a Family Day from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m., including live music, fun, raffles, Wheel of Fortune and food (cotton candy, popcorn, hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks).
