Wewahitchka High Opens Track Season

Wewahitchka High School’s track team competed in its first meet on Feb. 25 at Bozeman. Other teams at the meet were Chipley and Freeport.  The Gator boys won the meet, led by senior Remington Wade who finished first while Michael Bryan finished third in the 3,200 meters.

Dakota Ake and Nick Malcolm finished first and second in the pole vault and Andrew Bidwell won the 1,600 meters. Colton Price won the 200 and 400 meters and Tyler Lanter and Ben Smith finished second and third, respectively, in the 300 meter hurdles. Theryl Brown won the high jump and Ryan Walding was third in the discus.

In the relays, the 4 x 800 meter relay team (Remington Wade, Michael Bryan, Jeremy Morrill, Travis McGill) was first and the 4 x 400 meter relay team (Colton Price, Andrew Bidwell, Shaquille Scott, Nick Malcolm) also finished first.

The Lady Gators finished second in the team standings.

Senior Laurel Manor won the 800 meters, Jaria Pippin won the 400 meters, Donie Lanier was first in the pole vault and the 1,600 meters and the 4 x 800 relay team (Laurel Manor, Kaitlyn Gaskin, Alexa Allison, Donie Lanier) was first.

The 4 x100 relay team (Jabrela Lewis, Raven Forehand, Azaina Goodman, Jaria Pippin) finished second while the 4 x 400 relay team (Laurel Manor, Jaria Pippin, Jabrela Lewis, Donie Lanier) finished first.
