George Thomas “Tommy” Williams, Sr., 69, of Port St. Joe, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at a local hospital.
George Thomas “Tommy” Williams, Sr., 69, of Port St. Joe, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at a local hospital. Mr. Williams was born Aug. 20, 1944, to the late Edgar and Nellie Williams in Panama City.
He was a lifelong resident of the area, and avid sportsman, a member of Long Avenue Baptist Church and the Fred Witten Sunday School Class. Mr. Williams retired from Apalachicola Northern Railroad and the Gulf County Correctional Institute.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Barbara Ann Lundy and Judy Griner.
Mr. Williams is survived by his beloved bride of 50 years, Carolyn Williams; three sons, Tommy Williams, Jr. and wife, Malinda, Marty Williams and wife, Crystal, and Travis Williams and wife, Robyn; four grandchildren, Zac, Leah, Grayson and Dee Dee; two great-grandchildren, Jonah and Jacob; a brother, Dennis Williams and wife, Pat; a sister, Charlotte Cushing and husband, Quinene; special little girls, Ashlin, Kaylin, Laura Beth and Emma and numerous extended family members.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 12 at Long Avenue Baptist Church in Port St. Joe where the Rev. Royce Williams, the Rev. Eli Prine and Brother Fred Witten officiated.
