A man was arrested Monday following an armed robbery at the Haughty Heron in Port St. Joe.

A man was arrested Monday following an armed robbery at the Haughty Heron in Port St. Joe.

According to reports from the Port St. Joe Police Department, Jarrod Bennett, 41, allegedly entered the Haughty Heron and used a knife to threaten the on-duty bartender while demanding money. Following the theft, Bennett fled the scene on foot.

Due to the quick action of employees and other patrons, and the quick response of the PSJPD, Bennett was apprehended within five minutes of the robbery near the Cape San Blas Light House.
