GULF COUNTY — St Joe Gas Company shut down its entire gas system on Friday in Gulf County so first responders could go door-to-door without having to worry about gas leaks.
Gas employees from St. Joe Natural Gas Company and others from as far as Miami are working now to restore gas service in all areas, according to a press release from Gulf County. The county is urging residents to not tamper with any gas lines or attempt to restore service.
To report any damage to gas piping, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Those with no access to email can go in person to 301 Long Ave. in Port St. Joe.
Those who see a gas company vehicle may flag it down and report a problem. The company has very limited phone and internet service, the press release said.
