Both county high school football teams are heading to the Florida High School Athletics Association playoffs four weeks after Hurricane Michael made an offensive on Gulf County.

Port St. Joe, 8-0 after completing the program’s first undefeated season in memory, earned the top seed in the Region 2-1A playoff bracket.

The Tiger Sharks will host Liberty County 7:30 p.m. ET Friday.

The way the bracket is set up, as long as Port St. Joe continues to win it figures to have home-field advantage up to the state championship game in Orlando.

Wewahitchka, which finished the season with a loss to Florida A&M last Friday, took the sixth seed and will visit Jefferson County Friday.
