Wewa Woman’s Club BBQ Pork fundraiser. The GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club will host its annual BBQ Pulled-Pork Fundraiser for community projects 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. CT Friday at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church’s Fellowship Hall. For $7, get a plate that includes a pulled-pork sandwich, cole slaw, baked beans and homemade pound cake. Delivery is also available. ‘The Seven Last Words of Christ’ choral concert. The Bay Area Choral Society Choir will perform “The Seven Last Words of Christ” by Theodore Dubois 6 p.m. ET Friday at First United Methodist Church in Port St. Joe. The Seven Last Words of Christ is presented in eight movements: an introduction for soprano and orchestra followed by a movement for each word of Christ from the cross. The suggested donation to attend is $5 at the door.

Celebrate the Glory of the Lenten Season, and make plans now to hear this beautiful cantata describing the Passion of the Christ.



PSJ Garden Club plant/yard sale. It is that time of year again. Time to garden. Spring is a time of rejuvenation and the time to start planning your spring plantings. On Saturday, the Port St. Joe Garden Club is having its annual plant and yard sale. The sale is from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. ET and will occur rain or shine at the Garden Center located at 216 Eighth Street, Port St. Joe. They will have herbs, succulents, and flowering plants including natives. The natives will include for the first time coastal dune stabilizer plants such as Uniola Paniculata, commonly known as sea oats, for those interested in stabilizing their sandy yards or dunes. Come get your plants and herbs from the people who love to garden.


Brotherhood Breakfast at Beach Baptist. Phil Densmore continues his mission for the men of the community, cooking up a breakfast 10 a.m. ET Saturday at Beach Baptist Chapel. Please come to the Fellowship Hall for a delicious and hearty breakfast. The church is located at 311 Columbus Street in St. Joe Beach.



Reach the highest heights. The Cape San Blas Lighthouse and Gift Shop, located in Port St. Joe’s George Core Park, is back open and operating on hours for the season.

The lighthouse and gift shop are open 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. ET Wednesday through Saturday.

Venture to the top of the lighthouse, nearly 100 feet high, and check out one of the best views around.

The cost to climb is $5. Children under 12, but at least 44-inches tall, may climb for $3.

No flip-flops, sturdy shoes needed to climb.
