April is the month of the military child and Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School, with help from senior Hannah Coppock, is proud to recognize our “military brats.” Military kids sacrifice just like their military parents do; in fact, they relocate 10 times more often than civilian families—on average, every 2 to 3 years.
More than 900,000 children have experienced the deployment of one or both parents, lasting between six months and two years. Despite all the hardships they face, military children are shown on average to have lower delinquency rates and higher achievement scores than civilian children.
PSJHS salutes Hannah Coppock, Cameron and Brian Lindsey, Malakai Richey, Madison Jasinski, and Alayna and Saige Willis.
