In honor of National Arbor Day Friday, and in response to the damage to timber caused by Hurricane Michael, there will be Arbor Day events at each end of the county Friday which fill focus on the distribution of trees and seeds.

Help re-grow Port St. Joe 10 a.m. ET until supplies last in front of the Krazyfish Grill where more than 4,000 young trees will be given away free to the public.

In addition, there will be a limited supply of herb seeds and one palm tree donated by Beach Properties will be raffled away.

Krazyfish is located at 113 Monument Ave.

In Wewahitchka, David Rich’s IGA will host an effort by Florida Forest Service to distribute free trees to the community replace trees lost to Michael.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. CT.

The IGA is at 201 W. River Road; look for the greenspace by the parking lot for the tree distribution sign.
