Three Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School students were inducted last week into the Quill and Scroll International Honorary Society for High School Journalists.

Hannah Anderson, Austin Haynes and Catherine Bouington were honored by the Society, which “encourages, supports and recognizes individual student initiative and achievement in scholastic journalism, irregardless the medium.”

Quill and Scroll was founded in 1926 at the University of Iowa by George Gallup, the pollster and a group of high school advisers. Since its founding, charters have been granted to more than 14,000 high schools in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and 29 other countries.
