The 4-H District III Showcase was held May 4 in Bristol.

4-H District III includes the counties of: Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty and Wakulla.

The 4-H District Showcase is an annual event where 4-H club members come together to display their 4-H projects through speeches and demonstrations.

The Gulf County 4-H Big River Rider’s Horse Club had three club members compete this year in the following categories and age division.

Expressive Arts – Georgia Cleckey, Junior Division (ages 8-10), Title: Recycle, Upcycle: Make Art. Georgia received a Blue Rosette.

Horses - Emily Flowers, Junior Division (ages 8-10), Title: Saddle Talk: Know Your Saddle. Emily received a Blue Rosette.

Small Animals & Pets: Eastyn Flowers, Cloverbud Division (ages 5-7), Title: Living With a Diabetic Service Dog. Eastyn received a Blue Rosette.

The Gulf County 4-H members represented the county 4-H program in a great way. We hope they will return next year and do just as well now that they have experience. We also hope that more Gulf County youth will participate in 2020. Any youth participating in 4-H can compete in District Showcase.
