Mrs. Janet Christan Roberts, age 71, of Port St. Joe, Florida passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia. Janet was born on November 12, 1947 in Blountstown, FL to James Marion Goodman, Jr. and Annie Faye (Bridges) Goodman and had lived in Port Saint Joe for most of her life. She was a retired beautician and wallpaper installer. Janet enjoyed working with senior citizens, cloth crafts especially blankets, organizing and decorating different functions, attending New York Yankees spring training, and was active with her church. She was a member of White City Baptist Church. Janet was preceded in death by her father, James Marion Goodman, Jr.; first husband, Bruce Evensen; brother, James Solon Goodman; sister, Dianne Keith.
Survivors include husband, Charles Roberts of Port St. Joe, FL; mother, Annie Faye (Bridges) Goodman of White City, FL; son, Bruce Dale Evensen, Jr. and wife, Laura of Goose Creek, SC; daughter, Teresa Evensen Guthrie and husband, Shane of Pensacola, FL; stepson, Jeff Roberts of Panama City, Florida; stepdaughter, Kim Roberts Crawford of Hahira, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Amber Brock, Chelsea Hawkins, Savannah Guilford, Makayla Hawkins, Kaitlyn Evensen, Aidan Crawford, Bryce Hawkins, Angie Evensen and Ashlin Evensen; and great-grandchild Samyrah Guilford.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 12 p.m. (EDT) at White City Baptist Church in White City with Reverend Tyler Ford and Reverend Nick Davis officiating. Interment followed in Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Blountstown.
A private family visitation was held Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from 10 a.m. (EDT) until 11 a.m. (EDT) at White City Baptist Church; visitation for the public was from 11 a.m. (EDT) until service time at 12 p.m. (EDT).
