The St. Joseph Historical Society and the Cape San Blas Lighthouse at George Core Park in Port St. Joe will host a full-moon climb 7-8:30 p.m. ET Sunday.
Every three years the October full moon is also known as the Hunter’s or Blood moon; it is the full moon closest to the September equinox and therefore the beginning of fall in astronomy.
The Blood or Hunter’s moon is due to October being a time when game is fattened and harvest is ready to start preparations for winter.
The cost of the climb is $5. Children must be over 44 inches tall.
