The Sharks enjoyed our open week 8 of the regular season. As teams played last week some of the final rankings changed a little from the previous week. Three positions changed ahead of us with Sneads moving up to the No. 3 spot in the conference. Graceville moved up a spot to No. 4 and Vernon dropped two spots from No. 3 to No. 5. The Sharks remained the No. 6 seed with Jefferson County and Cottondale coming in at the No. 7 and No. 8.

The top eight teams will play in the Championship bracket and the bottom four in the conference will play a predetermined round robin three-week bracket.

With Sneads moving up to the No. 3 spot and us sitting at sixth we will travel to Sneads this Friday night. Sneads is 7-0 on the season and having one of their better runs in several years. They have good size and speed on both sides of the ball. It will be a tough assignment for the Sharks but hopefully we’ll be ready for the challenge.

The winner of our game will play the winner of the Baker and Jefferson County game. The two losers of those games will play at the higher seed’s home field. This three-week conference tournament will be week to week as knowing who our opponent will be the next round. The higher seed will always host with the exception of the week 11 championship and consolation bracket games at Tommy Oliver Stadium Saturday, Nov. 2. We’ll just take it week by week and see who we play and try to play our best because these games carry weight as who gets in the Florida High School Athletics Association after week 11. Hope to see you in Sneads this Friday night!

Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET.
