The St. Joseph Bay Humane Society is opening a Community Pet Food Bank.
The food bank will be open the first Tuesday of each month; individual families may pick up every other month.
The goal is to extend this opportunity to as many families as possible.
Pet food banks assist owners in keeping their pets and avoiding being forced to surrender or re-homing their pets in tie of financial hardship.
All animals benefiting from the food bank must be spayed or neutered and be up to date with their rabies vaccine.
Proof of need must demonstrated via a WIC card, EBT/Food Stamps, Medicaid or documentation indicating the household is living below the poverty line.
Donations make the food bank possible and if you wish to donate to the food bank please drop off donations of dog and cat food to the humane society shelter during business hours.
We do accept open bags.
