Each year beginning on Feb. 15 and ending Sept. 1, the beaches of Gulf County host a variety of ground nesting shorebirds.
Learn more about what makes our beaches so special for our feathered friends by joining the Florida Coastal Conservancy for “Lovebirds & Shorebirds” 12-6 p.m. ET today at the Forgotten Coast Sea Turtle Center, located at 1001 10th Street in Port St. Joe.
Enjoy refreshments and talks by our local Audubon Florida Shorebird Biologist, Kristina Macaulay, at 1 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. ET as she presents "Shorebird ID: An Introduction to Birding on the Gulf Coast of the Florida Panhandle."
This event is free and open to the public.
