Gulf County Democrats will meet 6:30 p.m. ET Monday at the Port St. Joe Garden Center at 216 8th Street to celebrate International Women’s Day with local community members, including literature readings, door prizes, and conversation.

Bob Rackleff, founder of the Big Bend Voting Rights Project, will discuss how we can help maximize the number of registered returning citizens eligible to vote. Bob will take a deep dive into voter registration as it pertains to Amendments 2 and 4, touch on misconceptions and confusion about the “financial obligations,” and explain how we can build a ground game to reach unregistered ex-felons that have completed incarceration, parole, and probation by the primary election deadline of July 20 and the general election deadline of Oct. 5.

Additionally, local school board candidates will introduce themselves and sign up sheets will be available for those interested in volunteering and organizing, becoming a DEC leader precinct captain, running for office, or becoming a part of the voter protection team.

Food and drinks will be served. For more information or to sign up to speak, please email Info@GulfCountyDemocrats.org.
