Herman Joseph “Joe” Brock passed away on Saturday, March 7 in Destin, Florida. He was born on July 9, 1944 to Ida and Herman Brock. Joe married Sandra Jean Brake on February 21, 1965 and three children were born of this union.


Joe worked for 25 years at the St. Joe Container Company as a forklift operator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for the outdoors and wildlife. Joe leaves a legacy of love of family and the value of hard work. Besides hunting and fishing, his favorite pastimes were playing cards and spending time with his great grandsons, JD and Garrus. If anyone needed anything, Joe was one of the first people to call no questions asked. He did not meet a stranger and welcomed everyone into his home.


He is survived by the love of his life, Sandra Jean; son Joseph “Joey” (Brooks) Brock; granddaughter, April (Ivan) Alvarez; two great grandsons, JD and Garrus, along with numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


Preceding him in death were his parents, Ida and Herman Brock, two daughters, Sandra Jo and Renda Kay, and two sisters Bonnie Pool and Audrey Hardy.


Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12 at the Highland View Baptist Church starting at 1 p.m. with a picture slideshow and memorial services at 2 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Holly Hill Cemetery.
