Two easy victories and a postponement resulted in a winning week for the Wewahitchka Jr./Sr. High School softball team.

A Tuesday game with Bozeman was postponed by Bozeman.

Wewahitchka is at Wakulla Friday and will not return home until April 2.

The Lady Gators put up seven runs in the first inning and made short work of their county rivals in a game called after three innings on the run rule.

Wewahitchka scored 15 runs but had just seven hits, aided by seven batters reaching by error, four walks and one batter hit by a pitch.

The Lady Gators were also a perfect 6 for 6 in stolen bases, Ashley Thompson with three, Gracie Price with two and Cyrina Madrid with one.

Haley Guffey picked up the win striking out eight and allowing a walk and a hit in three innings.

Kristen Thompson had a home run, single, scored twice and drove in two and Madrid had a double, scored and drove in a run.

Ashley Thompson scored three times without an official plate appearance, Price singled, scored twice and drove in one and Savana Mayhann singled, drove in two and scored.

Morgan Mayhann scored twice, Guffey singled and scored, Rebecca Shealy drove in one, Katie Shealy scored and Tamiah Rouse had a hit and scored.

Wewahitchka 7, Liberty County 0

Guffey tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits and no walks while striking out 13.

The Lady Gators broke open a close game with five runs in the sixth inning, with Price hitting a home run and Madrid and Wooten also driving in runs.

Kristen Thompson, Guffey, Price and Madrid all had two hits to pace the Wewahitchka offense. Guffey also had a first-inning home run.
