Barbara Wymer, Regent of Palm Springs NSDAR Chapter, and Sherrill Russ, Regent of St. Joseph Bay Chapter NSDAR of Port St. Joe, attended the Florida State Society of NSDAR annual meeting in Orlando.

This was the 118th NSDAR Conference for the Florida Society, which was founded in Jacksonville April 2, 1895. As of March 2018, the Florida State Society had 107 Chapters with a total membership of approximately 10,800 members.

There are two meetings per year; in the spring the Florida State meeting and in the fall the Fall Forum meeting which are educational meetings and workshops for the membership.

All Florida State meetings are held in Orlando and rotate every two years from different resorts.

This year the annual meeting was held at the Renaissance Hotel at Sea World with over 3,300 members in attendance. There were eight visiting State Regents from Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas, Montana, Pennsylvania, New York and Idaho.

The NSDAR motto is GOD, Home and Country.

Our mission is to promote Historic Preservation, Education and Patriotism.

The St. Joseph Bay Chapter NSDAR (National Society Daughters of the American) of Port St. Joe meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month from September to May.

At the October 2020 meeting the Chapter will celebrate the 45th anniversary for our local chapter. All members of the DAR are direct descendants of the American Revolution soldiers or individuals who gave direct service or support with supplies to the war.
