Mrs. Frenchie L. Ramsey, 94, of Port. St. Joe, FL passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020. She was born in Bogalusa, LA on December 14, 1925 to Howard and Lena Wooden. Mrs. Ramsey was a long-time resident of Gulf County and along with her husband she owned and operated the Star Publishing for many years. She was a charter member of Long Avenue Baptist Church and was the nursery coordinator for 27 years. She was also a member of the Port St. Joe Garden Club. Mrs. Ramsey is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wesley Ramsey; grandson, Chris Horton and three sisters. She is survived by three sons, Ray Ramsey, Willie Ramsey (Shirley) and Alford Ramsey (Laura); three daughters, Catherine Barfield (Jobie), Shelly Oliver (Tommy) and Carol Horton (David); one brother, Howard Wooden (Rachel); one sister, Sadie Holt; 11 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; devoted friend and caregiver, Iduma Wingate. Funeral services for Mrs. Ramsey will be at 1:00 p.m. EST, Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Long Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Eli Prine officiating. Mrs. Ramsey’s grandsons will serve as pall bearers. The family will receive friends at 12:00 noon prior to service. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Long Avenue Baptist Church piano fund in memory of Mrs. Ramsey. Expressions of sympathy may be viewed or submitted at www.southerlandfamily.com
