Freddie Carl Peavy

Mr. Freddie Carl Peavy, age 81, of Live Oak, FL and a former resident of Wewahitchka, FL passed away Monday, July 6, 2020 in Live Oak.

Carl was born on October 30, 1938 in Gulf County to Freddie Arthur Peavy and Dora Belle (Weathers) Peavy and had lived in Live Oak for the past 32 years coming from Wewahitchka. Carl worked for St. Joe Paper Company for 32 years as a Data Processor manager until his retirement.

He was Vice President of Administration for the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch for 15 years. Carl enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing and most of all loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Clarence and Arthur Peavy, a sister, Annie Grover.

Survivors include, wife of 60 years, Barbara Ann Peavy of Live Oak, FL; two sons, Tim Peavy of Blountstown, FL, Mark Peavy of Wewahitchka, FL; one daughter, Teresa Peavy of Live Oak, FL, one sister, Agnes Carriere of Bennington, VT, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, his puppy Toby.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 1 p.m. (CDT) from the graveside at Buckhorn Cemetery in Wewahitchka, FL with Reverend Joey Smith officiating. Interment will follow. The family received friends Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. (CDT) until 7:00 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel.
