The St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve will resume tram tours beginning Jan. 16 and will occur monthly on the third Thursday of the month.

Visitors will meet at the Buffer Preserve Center at 9 a.m. EST for a little history, a little learning, and the importance of the Buffer Preserve to St. Joseph Bay! Bring binoculars, cameras, hats, water bottles, and anything else to make the ride more comfortable.

To participate in this program, one must:

*Have the ability to follow verbal and/or visual instructions.

*Have the ability to enter and exit ADA accessible tram independently or with the assistance of a companion.

*Have the ability to withstand exposure to the outdoors and insects for a period of 1.5 hours.

*Have the ability to sit in an open trailer with wooden seats.

Space is limited so please email our Environmental Specialist Sophia Fonseca at sophia.fonseca@floridadep.gov to reserve your spot. Be sure to include how many individuals are attending.

The Preserve is located at 3915 State 30A about a mile west of Simmons Bayou.
