Test alert from Gulf District Schools
To all Gulf County parents, guardians, and students…!
Testing season is upon us! The Spring 2020 Florida Standards Assessments and the 2020 EOC Exams will be administered very soon! The first “official day” of testing will begin Wednesday, April 1. Third grade students will be assessed in Reading (Session 1).
Session 2 of the 3rd Grade Reading Assessment will be administered Thursday, April 2.
In addition, all students in grades 4-10 will take the FSA ELA Writing Assessment on Thursday, April 2. The FSA Reading (grades 4-10), FSA Mathematics (Grades 3-8), NGSSS Science (Grades 5 and 8), and all EOC Assessments will be administered during the month of May, beginning Monday, May 4. All testing will conclude on Friday, May 22. We are optimistic and encouraged that our students will perform well on these assessments.
Before your child arrives to school, parents are encouraged to provide him/her with a healthy, warm breakfast, a warm hug, and a warm kiss on the cheek. Also, be sure your child arrives to school on time. Further, be sure your child gets a sufficient amount of rest each night, so that he/she will be prepared to move forward in a spirit of excellence each day of testing.
Superintendent of Schools Jim Norton and the Gulf County School Board would like to express their gratitude to all administrators, teachers, and staff for the excellent work they continue to do in preparing our students for these important tests, and for the next level of their educational journey. Your dedication and commitment to students is greatly appreciated!
