PSJ’s Arnold, graduates and earns Academic Achievement list at Georgia Southwestern
AMERICUS, GA -- Kristiana Arnold, a resident of Port St Joe, made the Spring 2020 Academic Achievement List at Georgia Southwestern State University and was among 735 students recognized for scholastic achievement.
To be eligible for the Academic Achievement List, a student must previously earn at least 12 credit hours at GSW, be enrolled in 3 to 11 hours of courses, and earn a 3.5 or higher GPA.
In addition, Arnold graduated from GSW during the Spring 2020 Virtual Graduation Ceremony on May 15. Arnold earned a Bachelor of Science in long-term care management.
"These graduates are part of a graduating class like no other," noted GSW President Neal Weaver, Ph.D. "Whether on stage or online, their hard work deserves to be recognized. May 15 was their special day, and we made sure it was still going to be their special day. We know this is not how they envisioned completing their college journey, but I am amazed at their perseverance and determination through it all."
Graduates received a package in early May with a special gift available only to Spring 2020 graduates. They were encouraged to share photos posing with the package contents, wearing their cap and gown, or watching the ceremony and post on social media.
Spring 2020 graduates also have the option of returning to campus to walk across the stage in a special face-to-face Aug. 15 ceremony.
MB’s Daniel makes Spring 2020 Dean's List at GSW
Hunter Daniel, a resident of Mexico Beach, made the Spring 2020 Dean's List at Georgia Southwestern State University and was among 735 students recognized for scholastic achievement.
To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credit hours.

PSJ’s Pickett inducted into Huntingdon honor societies
MONTGOMERY, AL —Huntingdon College offers 15 honor societies into which students may earn membership on the basis of academic achievement, leadership, or other merits. Although the installation of student members into some of the honor societies this spring 2020 was hampered because of closures or postponements caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the following honor societies announced inductees or students who qualified for induction.
Kerigan Pickett of Port St. Joe and Class of 2021 was inducted into:
*Gamma Sigma Alpha, a national Greek academic honor society that promotes intellectual interaction and scholarship;
*Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Honor Society, which requires a GPA of 3.0-3.5 with at least 12 credit hours in communication studies and ranks in the top 35 percent of the class;
*Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society;
*Order of Omega, a national Greek leadership honor society.
