Lady Tiger Sharks remain unbeaten in district

Three district games last week and three easy wins.

That pretty much summarizes the past seven days for the Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School girls’ basketball team as they pushed their District 4-2A record to a perfect 8-0.

The Lady Tiger Sharks are 12-4 overall.

But this week is back to the road, as Port St. Joe was at Bay earlier this week, plays at Tallahassee Chiles Friday and at Blountstown Tuesday before traveling to play at Sneads in the Red Hot Classic the end of next week.

Port. St. Joe 50, Bozeman 21

The Lady Tiger Sharks opened the game on a 15-5 run before the pace slowed, going into halftime with a 20-12 lead.

Port St. Joe opened the second half on a 24-5 run and coasted from there.

Mimi Larry led Port St. Joe with 15 points and added six steals, five rebounds and three steals.

Amani Jones added eight points, four rebounds, three blocks and a steal, Jae Lenox seven points, five assists, three steals and two blocks, India Gant seven points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal and Jahneese Brathwaite five points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Zhyion Quin chipped in three points, one rebound and one assist for Port St. Joe which also received three points, six rebounds, five steals, two blocks and three assists from Mari Johnson while Shadovia Hudgins had two points, a steal, rebound and assist.

Port St. Joe 56, Liberty County 17

The Lady Bulldogs visited the "The Dome" and found themselves quickly down 25-8 and 39-13 by halftime.

Johnson led Port St. Joe with 18 points and added two rebounds, three assists and four steals.

Jones added nine points, three rebounds, two steals and one block, Lenox seven points, two rebounds, eight assists, three steals and a block, Quinn six points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal, Brathwaite five points, four rebounds, two assist and two steals, Gant four points, three rebounds and two steals, Hudgins three points, two rebounds and one assist and Larry four points, two rebounds, three assists and four steals.

Port St. Joe 58, Franklin County 9

On a night that Port St. Joe wore their replica Washington High uniforms and honored legendary Coach William Lane, who passed away earlier in the week, the Lady Tiger Sharks started the night with 18-1 run and just poured it on, up 40-5 at halftime to set off a running clock.

Lenox led Port St. Joe with 17 points, nine assists, two rebounds, two steals and two blocks.

Brathwaite added 10 points, one rebound, two assists, three steals and two blocks, Jones nine points, seven rebounds, four assists, five blocks and three steals, Johnson nine points, eight rebounds, two steals and one block, Larry six points, three rebounds, two assist, three steals and two blocks, Gant five points, two assist, two steals and a rebound and Hudgins two points and a rebound.
